George Litchfield baptized 3 March 1839



George Litchfield, 10th Child of Godfrey and Lucy:
Birth: George was baptized on 3 March1839 in Belper, Derbyshire, England.[1]
1841 Census: At two years of age, George was living with his parents and three brothers, Godfrey (15), Noah (10), and Octavus (8).  Godfrey is farming.[2]
1851 Census: Twelve year old George is in school.  He lives with his two parents and three brothers, Godfrey (28), Thomas (24) and Octavus (16).  His father, Godfrey is farming 65 acres.[3] 
1861 Census: Caught George visiting with his brother Octavus, his sister-in-law Sarah and niece Lucy.  George was 23, unmarried and working as a carpenter.[4]
Marriage: George Litchfield married Hannah Brooks Oct 28, 1870 in Duffield, Derbyshire, England.[5]
1871 Census: At the age of 33, George was living with his wife Hannah and his mother Lucy (83) on Pennicorn Farm where he was farming about 50 acres.  A thirteen year old servant, William Holmes, was also living there.[6]
1881 Census: George (42) is living in Belper and working as a “joiner”.  Living with him is his wife Hannah (40), his daughters Jane (10) and Annie (8) and his 5 year old son George.[7]
Parish death record: George died at the age of 42.  He was buried on 30 Oct 1882 at St. Peter’s Church, Belper, Derbyshire, England.[8]
